Extension Dialing

Extension dialling works so that you can internally transfer calls to numbers within your account.

They also can work if you set up Auto Attendant for when a customer calls your main number, and they know the extension number of the person they are wanting to reach. Example: “Welcome to Our Company if you know the extension of the person you wish to talk to… ”

Setting up Extension Dialling
  1. Log into your account.
  2. Select Switchboard.
  3. Select the number which you wish to add Extension Dialling on.
  4. Select Profile.
  5. Select Number Settings.
  6. On field Extension inform the number for your own extension. Note: The required extension field length is 3 digits.
  7. Click on Save to update.

If you are also planning on setting up Auto Attendant think about creating cohesion your extension numbers.

Setting up Groups

Groups work so that if you set up a group, only that group (or those numbers specified) can transfer between each other. For example a support team might not be able to forward calls to sales.

  • On field Ring Group inform the sector or team this number is.
  • Adjust the group type, eg: Sales, Marketing, Administration.
  • Set your Extension Number. Note: The required extension field length is 3-4 digits.
  • Click on Save to update.
