Power Cycle Desk Phones (Reboot/Restart)

This will go through how to power cycle a desk phone. This is just switching the device off and back on again and no settings are changed doing this.

This is not a factory reset which clears the phone of settings and lines being activated.

Procedure

Phones powered by Ethernet

  1. Find the ethernetcable on the back of the phone
  2. Unplugthe cable
  3. Wait10 seconds
  4. Plugtheethernetcable back in
  5. Wait for the phone to power back on

Phones powered by an external power supply

  1. Find the Powercable on the back of the phone
  2. Unplugthe cable
  3. Wait10 seconds
  4. PlugthePowercable back in
  5. Wait for the phone to power back on

Power cycle through the menu

Polycom

  1. Press Homekey (look like a house)
  2. go to Settings
  3. Select Basic Settings
  4. find and select Restart Phone
  5. The phone will now reboot

Cisco

  1. Press settingsKey
  2. Select Device administration
  3. Select Restart
  4. Select OKwhen asked about system reboot
  5. The phone will now go through the reboot cycle

Yealink

  1. Locate the X (or cancel) key.
  2. Press and hold the X key until you see a prompt on the screen.
  3. Press the OKsoft key (below the screen) to confirm the reboot.
  4. Wait for the reboot to complete.
